Through our Clinical Practicum: Community And Population Health Nursing course, students delve into the complexities of health disparities and practice culturally sensitive, collaborative care to achieve equitable health outcomes. By participating in this experience, you'll have the opportunity to engage with dedicated learners who are eager to apply their knowledge and skills to meaningful projects. We aim to foster interdisciplinary partnerships and promote evidence-informed approaches to address pressing health issues. This is a 13-week, 1-term course. Students have Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from January 7th - April 9th (exclusive of February 24th - March 2nd) to complete the project, with the final project due within the last 2 weeks of the course. Students are to complete 12 hours of work related to the project weekly. Students are assigned a clinical advisor to assist students through the project.

Students in the final semester of Loyalist’s two-year Business Administration Diploma Program are looking for a chance to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills in a business setting. Prior to this Service Learning course, students in this program have been taught a broad range of skills valuable in the business world including: project management, marketing, organizational behaviour, social media and emerging technology, accounting for decision making, and supply chain management. Course Description: Integration of formal learning practices with developmental learning opportunities helps to enhance and consolidate the knowledge, skills, abilities and attitudes of emerging professionals. Students, in consultation with their faculty advisor, will complete an approved placement opportunity with a cooperating organization or business. The placement is intended to provide the student with hands-on work experience in their preferred field of business.

Students in the final semester of Loyalist’s two-year Business Administration Diploma Program are looking for a chance to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills in a business setting. Prior to this Service Learning course, students in this program have been taught a broad range of skills valuable in the business world including: project management, marketing, organizational behaviour, social media and emerging technology, accounting for decision making, and supply chain management. Course Description: In real-time cooperation with community partners from a variety of fields, student teams collaborate to create and manage projects based on the specified needs of each organization.

Through experiential learning, Cannabis Applied Science students from Loyalist College will reinforce program outcomes and apply their knowledge and highly relevant skill set in an industry setting and/or in the Applied Research Centre for Natural Products and Medical Cannabis on an industry project. This experience could be focused on the sciences – extraction, analytical testing, quality control, cultivation, formulation, etc. – or an area which is peripheral to the sciences but would be strengthened by a background in science (marketing, communication, project management, regulations, government, etc.). Students are available for 140 hours of placement from March 28, 2022 to April 22, 2022.

Students in the third year of the Environmental Technology program will undertake semester-long, project-based learning with industry or community partners to participate in the development and execution of an applied project. The objective of the collaborative applied project is to have students, as team members in a workplace setting, apply and integrate the skill sets and knowledge that form the core of their training in these programs. In this way, they augment their academic training with valuable work experience, and an opportunity to experience alternative methods of evaluation and measures of success that are less typical of academic environments.

Radio Broadcasting students from Loyalist College are required to spend the last four weeks of their final semester (March 29 - April 23, 2021) working on real-life projects to apply their skills in a realistic and professional context in various sectors, including: radio broadcasting, audio production, podcasting, advertising and marketing, communications and non-profit. This is an unpaid, for-credit experience. Due to COVID-19, placements will occur mostly virtually. Students are available to start remotely before the March start date listed on this posting as well.

Business-Administration Accounting students from Loyalist College are looking for real-life projects to apply their skills to the work world. Students are required to complete 140 hours of relevant work. Students can complete many projects that are accounting, tax, finance, and bookkeeping related. This is an unpaid, for-credit experience.
