Unlocking Health Equity with Community Health Projects: Community and Population Health Nursing
NURS 3005
Third-year students enrolled in Loyalist College's Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing program are ready to collaborate with employers like you to tackle real-world challenges in community and population health nursing. Through our Clinical Practicum: Community And Population Health Nursing course, students delve into the complexities of health disparities and practice culturally sensitive, collaborative care to achieve equitable health outcomes. By participating in this experience, you'll have the opportunity to engage with dedicated learners who are eager to apply their knowledge and skills to meaningful projects. We aim to foster interdisciplinary partnerships and promote evidence-informed approaches to address pressing health issues. This is a 13-week, 1-term course. Students have Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from January 7th - April 9th (exclusive of February 24th - March 2nd) to complete the project, with the final project due within the last 2 weeks of the course. Students are to complete 12 hours of work related to the project weekly. Students are assigned a clinical advisor to assist students through the project.
Social Service Work Field Practicum Projects

Learners in this experience are equipped to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical social service settings . They are capable of developing professional and interpersonal relationships that adhere to legal, ethical, and professional standards. Learners can perform client assessments, advocate for individuals and communities, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. They are skilled in documenting interactions according to professional standards, integrating a strengths-based and anti-oppressive framework. Additionally, learners are adept at promoting social justice, supporting marginalized groups, and understanding the effects of social policies on service delivery.
Cyber Security Co-op - PAID ($16.00/hr min)

Our postgraduates are taught by industry experts and have in-demand professional and technical skills that are highly sought after in today’s market. With a range of government funding and tax incentives hiring co-op students is a cost-effective way to address short-term staffing needs and evaluate potential employees for succession planning while contributing to a student’s future career.
