Our company would like help designing our current website. We are always on the lookout for innovative and fresh UI and UX ideas that will help our users. This will involve: Conducting background research on our existing web application for the product. We are happy to provide a walkthrough and other resources to help bring them up to speed. Identifying key areas of our current website and what areas of focused might return the best results in a redesign. Learning and using various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as this is the latest and greatest tool currently available. Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a web application which can be used on all major browsers and be mobile friendly Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this

We’re now seeking a student team to help us design a foundational blockchain solution for the CoGs Points System — a tokenized model that verifies and records sustainability actions completed by users and organizations.

The Community of Guardians (CoGs) is a not-for-profit platform that transforms science into measurable sustainability action. Citizens, scientists, and organizations collaborate through science-backed challenges that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We’re now seeking a student team to help us design a foundational blockchain solution for the CoGs Points System — a tokenized model that verifies and records sustainability actions completed by users and organizations. Your work will help establish the technical framework that brings transparency, trust, and data integrity to our global impact-tracking ecosystem. Skills Required: Blockchain fundamentals (Ethereum, Polygon, or similar) Smart contract development Cryptography and data integrity Database and API integration UI/UX for blockchain interaction (optional but valuable) Activities: Design a blockchain ledger to record and verify sustainability actions (e.g., tree planted, waste reduced, energy saved). Implement smart contracts to issue and transfer CoGs Points based on verified actions. Use cryptographic methods to ensure transaction authenticity and transparency. Develop a simple user dashboard where participants can view earned CoGs Points and organizational contributions. Document your process with clear technical notes for future development and scaling. Expected Outcomes: A functional blockchain prototype demonstrating the issuance and transfer of CoGs Points. Smart contract code for recording validated sustainability actions. A simple, user-friendly dashboard (web-based) showing token balances and actions. Recommendations for scaling the blockchain to support full platform integration. Impact: Your work will help pioneer a new model of sustainability data verification, turning community actions into trusted, measurable impact that governments, corporations, and funders can see and value. Sustainable Science Outreach Campaign

Community of Guardians is seeking a team of science students to develop an outreach campaign aimed at engaging science professionals across Canada. The goal is to recruit these professionals to contribute science-based lessons and challenges to our social action platform, which focuses on promoting sustainability. This project provides an opportunity for students to apply their knowledge of science communication and outreach strategies. The campaign should be designed to effectively convey the importance of sustainability and the role of science in achieving it. Students will need to research and identify key science professionals and organizations, craft compelling messages, and utilize various communication channels to reach their audience. The project will help students develop skills in strategic planning, communication, and collaboration, all within the context of promoting sustainable practices.

Microsoft Teams Project Management System Setup

Community of Guardians, a non-profit organization, is in the process of developing a platform and requires an efficient project management system to streamline its operations. The current challenge is the lack of a structured system to organize tasks, assign responsibilities, and track progress effectively. The goal of this project is to set up a comprehensive project management system using Microsoft Teams applications. This system will enable the team to manage project tasks and documentation efficiently, ensuring that all team members are aligned and informed. By leveraging Microsoft Teams, the project aims to enhance collaboration, improve task visibility, and facilitate better communication among team members. The project will focus on creating a user-friendly interface that allows for easy task assignment and progress tracking. - Analyze the current project management needs of the Community of Guardians. - Design a project management system using Microsoft Teams applications. - Implement the system and conduct a training session for team members. - Ensure the system supports task assignment, progress tracking, and documentation management.
