Notes:

  1. Students & Instructors are encouraged to read & review our AFAQs.
  2. Please review student incentives post successful Project completion.

Scope:

Establish a baseline model for phonological improvement for beginners in learning a language.

- Baselining gaps on phonological characteristics while learning a new language

- Experimenting ethnic factors to evaluate causal contributions of nativity to phonics

- Modelling to predict time to achieve phonological accuracy & precision

- Validating the model for other languages, and/or phonological complexity

- Delivering technological platform for beginners to gain phonological skills

End Game: Reducing gaps in phonological skills via a technology based standardized feedback mechanism for breakthrough improvements.

Learners Will Be:

a - Researching literature on gaps associated with phonics based language learning

b - Varying controllable factors in experiments to understand their impact on phonic skills

c - Quantifying the variance contributions of factors to achieving phonic capability

d - Testing the quantified model across languages and phonic complexity

Using validated models to design technological solution (a.k.a. Web App) to render ease, convenience and economic value to enhance learning a new language.

Deliverables

Tasks to be executed:

Establish a baseline model for phonological improvement for beginners in learning a language.

- Baseline gaps on phonological characteristics while learning a new language

End Game: Reducing gaps in phonological skills via a technology based standardized feedback mechanism for breakthrough improvements.

Learners Will Be:

a - Leveraging online resources on gaps during phonics based language learning

b - Listing factors to vary in experimental studies on evaluating impact on phonic skills

c - Quantifying variance contributions of factors to achieving targeted phonic capabilities

d - Field testing quantified models for different languages as well as phonic complexities

Using validated models to design a user-friendly App for ease, convenience and economic value to beginners learning a new language.

Mentorship

Team members at MGBS as well as "C" level executive per need.

Team and MGBS Inc. will decide frequency of meeting, length of meetings, effectiveness of meetings and most importantly escalation protocol of any issues coming from either side on a proactive and a constructive basis. As a business process improvement coach & consultant I worked with several corporations in different continents over 31 years. After a successful 6-year work experience at General Electric Corporation, I founded my company in 2000, and have been fortunate to successfully deliver in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, technology, transactional as well as service type environments. Having published scientific & technical articles, including authoring 5 US patents I released my book on Lean Six Sigma in 2011. I converse reasonably in Dutch, and Spanish, the skills of which I acquired during my consulting times. To date, the total annualized direct customer benefits have accrued to several hundreds of millions of dollars across the globe in more than 20 years. I enjoy outdoor activities, and meeting people. I am thankful to my mentor (s), past employers, and my professional network members without which most achievements would have been impossible.
