THE PROJECT
We are looking for a social media content and design strategy, which we can implement across our various channels, including Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. The main goal of the social media strategy is to better capture our student travellers’ attention, increase the engagement on our channels, and lead to an increase in mailing list sign-up conversions in preparation for our product launch in June 2021.
Selected students will have the opportunity to take the lead on this project from concept to completion, with ongoing support and mentorship from the Founder & CEO.
To ensure the successful delivery of this project, we outline some key tasks (but not limited to) which selected students will perform:
- Gain a better understanding of what MiTravel is as a company and platform, and prepare an assessment of the effectiveness of our current communication
- Conduct preliminary primary and secondary market research to strengthen your understanding of the student travellers demographic, and identify best practices of what engages them and allows us to achieve a larger market share within this niche
- Work collaboratively with the group of selected students and our Founder & CEO to develop strategies that improve our online presence and recommend relevant programs, tools, methods of engagement, social channels, or communication pieces
- Finalize and consolidate a 6-month roll-out plan of shareable, compelling content that can be posted across Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, and etc. for approval
- Directly manage our social media channels by scheduling and posting content and engaging with our users to measure and report performance of the proposed strategy
Please note: the selected student candidates will work on this project on a part-time basis for about 10 hours per week (for a maximum duration of 8 weeks).
THE CANDIDATES
You are an ambitious, entrepreneurial-driven student looking to build a career in social media and content marketing. Full of creative ideas, you are known as the go-to person when it comes to brainstorming and executing fun marketing campaigns. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you are confident in your abilities, motivated to produce quality work, and are eager to spearhead and bring this project from concept to completion. Most importantly, you are passionate about traveling and enjoy planning for a trip!
We are looking for a couple of Marketing and/or Communications students with varying backgrounds and experience. Ideally, students have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in an agile, virtual, dispersed working environment with minimum supervision.
SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNITY STRATEGIST
- 1-2 years of social media, content creation and graphic design experience
- Self-starter who loves to take ownership and is a creative, outside-the-box thinker
- Strong attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for marketing with good understanding of latest marketing trends and techniques
- Working towards a degree in marketing, communication, journalism, arts or similar
- Portfolio to showcase past social media campaign, design or copywriting work
- Previous study and/or work abroad experience (or intention to in the future) is an asset
At this time, we are looking to bring on 1-2 people for this specific project as outlined above. We are open to a larger student team if the students are part of an university course hosted on Riipen.
