In this opportunity, Business Administration diploma students in a second year Human Resource Management class from Lethbridge College are looking to create a job description, interview guide, and performance metrics.

Our students are trained in a variety of techniques and activities utilized in planning, acquiring, developing and maintaining a highly effective workforce. Concretely, they have learned aspects of recruitment, selection, and performance management. For details see the next section.

Students are able to incorporate and operate effectively in light of various environmental challenges such as government policies, demographic trends, and organizational trends.

Your company can expect to receive three major deliverables. These include: a job description, comprehensive interview guide that includes questions and candidate evaluation tools, and a selection of performance metrics that can be used as part of the employee appraisal or performance management program.

The actual job description will reflect your firm's business strategy, field of operation, and internal needs. Students are capable of working within the following aspects:

  • Organizational strategy analysis
  • Human resource planning
  • Job analysis that leads to a comprehensive job description
  • Recruitment and selection tools to acquire employees
  • Performance metrics that can be used in the appraisal process

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Have access to firm's strategic plan and HR operational documents (including organizational chart, existing job descriptions, existing pay grids, etc.) Students are willing to sign an NDA, if required.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Be willing to introduce your company via a zoom lecture invite on a designated day and be willing to have a brief zoom group feedback session following submission of the three deliverables (for a total of 4 zoom lecture meetings of not more than 20 minutes in duration each).
