Your team will either organize and run the event or provide you with a community asset map customized to your needs and community resources.

Project Examples

Event ideas:

  • Organize a “town hall” style event to discuss a community issue or initiative of the community partner
  • Organize a celebration (a retirement, a cultural or seasonal celebration etc)
  • Organize a block party (sharing food, recreational activities, building relationships)
  • A community mobilization project (e.g. clean up and paint a community space)
  • Educational event (e.g. Mums and Tots literacy event, cultural competency etc.)

OR work with a team to develop an asset map

  • Work with young parents? the student team could research and organize information about access to programming to support parenting skills
  • Work with newcomer populations? The student team could research or organize assets in the community that help address social isolation for newcomers
  • Work with vulnerable populations? The student team could research and gather information about their issues and implications for social work practice/policies.
