RRC Polytech is a learner-centred institution that places an emphasis on real-world experience and opportunities for students to take part in Work Integrated Learning (WIL). As part of the Applied Computer Education (ACE) department the ACE Project Space has been giving WIL experiences to students for the past 9 years. The ACE Project Space works with real-world clients to solve problems that will enhance their business. In the past ACE Project Space has worked with Government, not-for-profit organizations, established businesses and start-up companies. Solutions have been created for almost 100 unique clients and well over 100 unique projects have been completed. Due to COVID-19 restrictions all work for this practicum will be completed remotely. The project's academic supervisor will be Chris Podolsky. Problem or opportunity Based on the implemented technical solution documentation will be produced to guide the transition to a client environment. Objective The goal of this project is to work towards delivering an implemented solution into a client environment, or documenting the environment for a future project team. The expected deliverables to be delivered by the student(s) are as follows: · A RASCI chart to establish the accountabilities of the the team members · Wireframes of the solution to be produced · StoryMap outlining team tasks and project scope · Establish priority features that provide the highest level of business value · An Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) that establishes the entities in the database and relations between the entities · Potentially create proof of concept code to establish feasibility of the solution · Working in a consultation role with the team's business analyst a Project Charter will be created · Establishing an initial development environment based on the requirements

Create an all inclusive Peer to Peer Mentoring Application (web component) where participants at various stages can access mentorship opportunities. You will work to finalize Front end and Back end of the beta iOS and Android app. I fully understand the journey to gain iOS approval can be daunting, so having the beta as an Android offering will help us gain validation. If the project timeframe does not allow the iOS build, that is something I am more than happy to continue building with the team should they so desire. The beta app is expected to have the following functions. Application Development - Selecting the best technologies for creating the application or feature (i.e. a real-time chat function); creating a fully-functioning application.
