Article Writing
Positions available: up to 65 We would like students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. During the spring and summer, the Antarctic Institute of Canada runs a program called Sharpen the Quill. The goal of the project is to develop student's writing and publication skills. During March and April, students will be expected to write 4 articles for us. These can be blogs, newspaper, or peer-reviewed articles. We have places to publish the articles for free on peer-reviewed publications. Students will be expected to: Research topics Write articles for a specific journal Peer-review articles for other students Submit their articles for approval and revisions before publication
Book Publication: Phase 1 (Medical/Health) FULL
Positions available: up to 200 total students, working in groups of 12 We would like students to write and publish books. For phase 1 of this initiative, students will focus on medical health topics. To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will: work with team pod of students to help write two books, one book each week write 2200 to 4000 words each week and edit other team (pod) members work on collective document upload documents for publication as books onto research sites keep with schedule and work as book writing team This project will be ongoing over 8 weeks, with different books being produced in each two-week segment. There will be 4 project postings on Riipen that students can apply for. Each phase will run for two weeks.

EduTutor Research and Online Teaching 23-24
Research and Online Teaching: Students will be working directly with the CEO of the company to use their online teaching skills and determine the most effective ways to teach K-12 students online. With the pandemic, there are more software solutions to teaching online. The goal of the project is to research these new ways to teach and to put them into practice with students. By the end of the project, successful candidates will have submitted a research paper pertaining to their experiences using new online teaching methods and have first-hand experience implementing and testing these new methods.
Interdisciplinary Authorship
Positions available: up to 30 students, working individually We would like students to write and publish interdisciplinary articles that align with our focus as a non-profit charity. To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will: work individually to author articles for publication relating to health-equity, education, social-philosophy, and health research. write 2200 to 4000 words each week - revise texts under the direction & mentorship of our program chair & LevelUp program director participate in tutorials for publication submission; execute learned skills with self-started publication submissions (students will not be expected to pay for journal submissions; student-work will be sent to free-submission journals only). maintain scheduling and productivity via a centralized gantt chart.
