The study will also explore the incorporation of same day and/or overnight parcel services to support online retailers, as well as the necessary coordination and regulatory requirements for the seamless operation of the service. Additionally, the project aims to explore the potential for indigenous investment and service design recommendations, as well as the development of proprietary Technology Integration IP for potential licensing to other international passenger rail operators.

Market and Technology Study for Alberta to Montana Passenger Rail Corridor The main goal for the project is to conduct a comprehensive market and technology study to determine the cost and feasibility of purchasing and maintaining hydrogen fuel cell battery electric passenger rail locomotives and coach equipment for the Alberta to Montana Passenger Rail Corridor. The study will also assess the effects of cold winter weather on the operation of hydrogen fuel cell-battery electric locomotives, determine the power requirements for pulling a 9 car train consist, and estimate the refurbishment cost of retired locomotives or repowering existing ones to provide the rail service.

Southern Alberta AADT Analysis and Emission Reduction Project

The main goal for the project is to conduct a detailed traffic and mobility analysis of specific highways in Alberta, focusing on the daily passenger vehicle count, recovery of automobile traffic density after the pandemic, and emission reduction estimates to remove personal vehicles from these corridors by implementing a Hydrogen Fuel Cell - Battery Electric train. The project is for Integrated Travel Research and Development, with a special focus on promoting transportation equity and sustainability through the "Rail for All" approach.

Economic Impact Assessment of Alberta to Montana Tourism Passenger Rail Service

The main goal for the project is to determine the annual induced new state visitor spending delivered by a daily Alberta to Montana tourism passenger rail service. Additionally, the project aims to assess the economic benefits of a train station for Tribal communities, including Browning, Ronan, Lame Deer, and Garryowen. The project also seeks to analyze the induced economic effect on community events, including sporting events at Montana Universities and cultural festivals.

15 Year Capital Plan for Improved Inter-City Transportation Services in Alberta

The main goal of the project is to identify and recommend a 15 year capital plan to initiate and provide improved inter-city transportation services in Alberta. This includes developing options and recommending an approach to introduce passenger rail in the Red Deer, Calgary, and Edmonton regions, as well as identifying corridors and staging options for passenger rail in Alberta (outside of Edmonton and Calgary) and reviewing service opportunities for various regions in the province.

Stakeholder Communication and Engagement Plan for Passenger Rail in Alberta

The main goal for the project is to initiate a stakeholder communication and engagement plan for all stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, municipalities, Class 1 railways, airports, industry, and Albertans to convey a vision for the future of passenger rail in the province and receive feedback on their priorities and perspectives to inform the Master Plan.

The main goal for the project is to investigate and recommend a governance approach for the creation of a Passenger Rail Authority in Alberta. The authority's mission is to improve the coordination and integration of all modes of transportation in the province, reporting to the Alberta Ministry of Transportation. The project will also explore a Metrolinx-like model for the passenger rail system and outline the governance models, program resource requirements, and workforce framework/requirements for all stages of passenger rail in Alberta.

The main goal for the project is to develop a net zero solution for railroad track construction equipment using solid oxide fuel cells. This solution should be sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly, aligning with the company's "Rail for All" approach to transportation equity and sustainability in Alberta. This will involve several different steps for the project team, including: - Researching and understanding the current railroad track construction equipment and its energy requirements. - Designing and developing solid oxide fuel cells that can efficiently power the construction equipment. - Testing the fuel cells in real-world conditions to ensure they meet the performance and sustainability requirements. - Integrating the fuel cells into the construction equipment and optimizing their operation. - Creating a comprehensive plan for the deployment and maintenance of the net zero solution.

The team will work with both cities to obtain their Transcad transportation models in order to model a scenario in which HSRR and express bus service is incorporated. The incorporation of this scenario will determine but is not limited to the following reductions: traffic volumes, roadway maintenance costs, collisions, and fatalities, ghgs and other pollutants, and petroleum.
