At Silver Homes, we imagine a world where property owners, regardless of their level of business or technological sophistication, can confidently trust technology to manage every aspect of their real estate portfolios.
To achieve this vision, we are developing a property management solution designed for the unsophisticated property owner and investor. We integrate technology, services and education to centralize and simplify the management of a real estate portfolio in a single platform.
PROJECT SCOPE
We have launched a new business and we are looking for support in creating our business plan. The business plan must answer the following three key questions:
1. What is our target audience? - customers
2. Who are our potential competitors and partners? - marketplace

Proposed Structure
While we are open to creative alternatives and structures (e.g., leveraging the business model canvas), we would anticipate the business plan addressing the key sections below:
1. Executive summary
2. Market strategies
- What are the market size and its segments?
- How is the market growing or changing?
- Narrowing our focus, who is our ideal target market? Define the market in terms of size, demographics, structure, growth prospects, trends, and sales potential (focus on Canada and the U.S.).
- Who is our customer and what is the cost of acquisition? Develop the personas, strategies to reach them and the cost of acquisition (i.e., If we were to develop a marketing and advertising campaign, who should we be targeting and how would we reach them? e.g., Facebook campaigns, connection through realtors, etc.)
- What are the key pain points/limitations that the target market is facing with regard to managing their real estate portfolios? Provide recommendations on what could be our strategic positioning.
- What is the revenue attractiveness (e.g., access to funds and willingness to spend, etc.)
- Pricing model options, analysis and recommendations (e.g., cost-plus pricing, demand pricing, percentage vs. fixed, etc.)
- Legal, regulatory and potential risk factors of specific market locations (e.g., property ownership legislation, etc.)

3. Competitive Analysis
- Who are the key players? (i.e., company overview, funding, revenue, employees and customers, market size and share)
- What are they offering? (i.e., product features, pricing, perks, technology)
- Who are their customers? (i.e., target audiences, geography, size, demographics, etc.)
- How do they reach their customers? (i.e., where and how do they advertise?)
- Analysis of competitor attributes, including relative strengths/differentiators and weaknesses/gaps (i.e., positioning map comparing the features and services offered and potential gaps)
- Business models and pricing plans comparisons (e.g., percentage vs. fixed, by user, by property, etc.)
- Who could be potential partners to support integrations (e.g., DocuSign, SignNow, banks, Real Estate Board, etc.)
