WHAT IS THE MAIN GOAL FOR THIS PROJECT?

The primary goal of this project is to assist MyRide901 with UX/UI designs that will contribute to two major initiatives:

  1. ShopConnect Appointment Booking Feature:
  • Provide UX/UI design solutions, including a flow diagram and high-fidelity prototypes for a feature that will allow vehicle owners to schedule service appointments with auto repair shops. This feature will enable the generation and sending of .ics files containing links to MyRide901 service history and additional supporting data (e.g., vehicle service records, upcoming service recommendations).
  1. MyRide901 Website Redesign:
  • Provide high-fidelity prototypes for a website redesign that reflects the latest trends in website design, optimized for a better user experience and alignment with MyRide901’s business and marketing objectives.

WHAT TASKS WILL STUDENTS NEED TO COMPLETE TO ACHIEVE THE PROJECT GOAL?

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate the following:

  1. ShopConnect Design:
  • Design the flow for the ShopConnect appointment booking feature.
  • Create high-fidelity UI/UX prototypes that ensure a seamless experience for both vehicle owners and auto repair shops.
  • Produce a detailed flow diagram that outlines the process from the vehicle owner initiating the service appointment request to the shop receiving the .ics file with the linked service history and other necessary data.
  • Ensure the design facilitates easy communication and user navigation while keeping data security and integration with other MyRide901 features (e.g., service history, appointment scheduling) in mind.
  1. MyRide901 Website Redesign:
  • Analyze the current MyRide901 website’s strengths and weaknesses in terms of UX/UI and propose solutions.
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes that reflect the latest trends in website design for improved user experience (UX), with an emphasis on responsiveness, ease of navigation, and clarity of information.
  • Ensure that the redesigned website aligns with the business goals and enhances the customer journey, with a clear focus on improving the user experience for vehicle owners and auto shops.
  • Design with attention to user engagement, incorporating sections for testimonials, FAQs, and service features in a modern and appealing layout.

FINAL DELIVERABLES SHOULD INCLUDE

  1. For ShopConnect Appointment Booking Feature:
  • Flow diagram detailing the user journey and steps in the appointment scheduling process.
  • High-fidelity UI/UX prototypes for the appointment scheduling feature, highlighting:
  • Vehicle owner’s steps to initiate and book appointments.
  • Shop’s interface for receiving and confirming appointments.
  • A brief written explanation of the design choices and how they align with MyRide901’s overall user experience strategy.
  1. For MyRide901 Website Redesign:
  • High-fidelity prototypes for the redesigned website.
  • Detailed breakdown of design choices for the website, such as:
  • Color scheme, typography, and visual elements.
  • Structural layout and navigation improvements.
  • Integration of mobile optimization and responsiveness.
  • A final report explaining the design approach, user testing feedback (if applicable), and recommendations for further improvements post-launch.
  1. Project Documentation:
  • Presentation to stakeholders summarizing the designs, rationale behind design choices, and how the solutions fulfill user needs and business objectives.
  • Evaluation of potential future improvements based on feedback and real-world use.
