About Drizti

Drizti delivers Personal Supercomputing. We believe, access, and use of a supercomputer should be as straightforward as using a personal computer.

We’ve set out to empower engineers, developers, and scientists with cloud High Performance Computing (HPC), removing the traditional barriers associated with accelerated product development using massive computing capability.

Drizti is an alumnus of Ryerson DMZ.

What we do

We've built a cloud and application agnostic supercomputing platform, HPCBOX (www.hpcbox.com), delivering a PC like development and automation platform to democratize access to supercomputers. Traditionally, only large companies could benefit with supercomputing technology because of the costs involved in building, maintaining, and operating high density datacenters which could host these massive computers. Furthermore, significant experience is required in successfully putting this computing power to good use. We've changed all of this and now, any scientist, developer or engineer can use their laptop or workstation, be anywhere on the planet with access to Internet, and get access to fully managed supercomputing with unlimited capacity.

We’ve so far helped Formula Racing Teams, Naval Architects, Aerospace Engineers, and many more with our unique HPC Cloud Platform.

Internship - Amazon Web Services Development

Team size: 1 team of 1 student

Our HPCBOX Platform is designed from the ground-up to be cloud vendor neutral. So far, we have a production ready, certified solution available for use on Microsoft Azure and a prototype built for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or OCI. Our next target is Amazon AWS and we’d like to do some initial prototyping work to get started building Amazon AWS support into our platform. We believe, these are the steps we’d have to take to get this going:

  • Make a quick comparison and identify the features in AWS which are equivalent to what we use on Azure.
  • Build a small REST service (preferably in .NET core) which implements a couple of methods we would need. We DO NOT expect a fully functional service to have been implemented at the end of this internship, even just dummy placeholders for the methods would suffice.

What you'll learn

We hope you’ll be able to have some fun with the following:

  • Building a REST API in .NET core, specifically C#, if you haven’t already built one before.
  • Work on Linux, although you’ll be able to do your development work on Windows.
  • Learn about High Performance Computing and all the cool things one can create with it.
  • Explore and work on Amazon AWS.

Other Information

  • An NDA will be required for this internship.
  • An Amazon AWS subscription will be provided.
  • If required, a Visual Studio subscription can be provided for the course of the internship in case Visual Studio Code is not suitable for this activity.
Deliverables
No deliverables exist for this project.
Mentorship

Students will be working directly with the CTO and Founder of Drizti Inc. Since this is a development project, there will be frequent interactions and design discussions etc. with the CTO.

It & computing

Drizti delivers Personal Supercomputing. We believe, access and use of a supercomputer should be as straightforward as using a personal computer. We’ve set out to upgrade the supercomputing experience for users in industry verticals like manufacturing, packaging, aerospace, defense, machine learning, robotics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy and much more.

We aim to make scalable computing accessible to every innovator, helping them compete and innovate with the same freedom they enjoy on their personal workstations and laptops.
