Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for one or more students/teams of students to support the development of best practice guidelines to support the hospice palliative care sector. This may include:

  • Conduct literature searches, reviews and environmental scans
  • Evaluate research articles using tools such as GRADE
  • Write reports/manuscripts
  • Coordinate working group meetings

Potential Topics:

  • Equity, diversity and inclusion in hospice palliative care, including 2SLGBTQI+ health
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Complementary therapies
  • Spiritual care

Qualifications:

  • 3rd/4th year undergraduate student or graduate student
  • Interest in health services research
  • Understanding of literature review methods
  • Understanding of database searching specific to health services
  • Knowledge and understanding of hospice palliative care, an asset

Mentorship

Students will report to the Director, Centre for Excellence and meet 1:1 weekly. Additionally, students will be integrated into the broader staff team and will have the opportunity to interact with staff and member organizations.
