Hi there! We are looking for a student interested in web development and working with REST APIs. The project aims to improve app features in our mental-health support platform like matching algorithms, RDS security, and interactive audio chat! The students will be assisting a team of 4 senior software developers, an experienced product and design team and multiple industry leading advisors.

At Honest Empathy, we are fixated on improving mental healthcare by crafting immersive therapeutic journaling and using AI to reinvent support groups. Together, let’s improve mental wellness and make isolation a thing of the past!

Project scope:

Current features we plan to improve/build include voice and audio chat and an interactive user dashboard interface. A student would work on one app feature and deliver the following work product -

1. Use technologies (Node.js and Python) to create documented API endpoints to power new application features.
2. Write functions and OOP modules to implement third-party user authentication, audio journaling with NLP, and matching algorithms.
3. Write and execute unit testing functions to ensure API endpoints and app features meet our engineering standards.

At Honest Empathy our executive team will offer one-on-one mentorship to each student throughout the project. We will begin by understanding the student’s professional goals help them build skills to achieve those goals. We will create an agile workflow for the project's duration to help them gain the skills they want and learn how to effectively work in a team setting. We will have 3 check-ins a week to work through complex problems along with knowledge sharing sessions every other week! Team meetings will be conducted through Zoom.
