Compensation and Reward Strategy - Winter 2025

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Fanshawe College to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this program will develop an understanding of the process, issues, and techniques involved in developing a compensation system. Students will learn both the theoretical and applied aspects of the compensation function; develop and recommend strategies that link the compensation function to the goals of the organization; as well as develop and recommend compensation and reward systems that are necessary to attract, retain and motivate the required workforce.

Does your business focus on delivering services to individuals, families and communities? Bring on learners from Fanshawe College's Program of Social Service Work as they elevate their skills related to human behaviour, social problems and helping techniques. Learners will devote up to 300 hours over one term, practicing the skills they have learned in the classroom. Learners are expected to: Examine current social policy, relevant legislation, and political, social, historical, and/or economic systems and their impacts for individuals and communities when delivering services to the user/client Develop strategies and approaches that support individual clients, groups, families and communities in building the capacity for self-advocacy, while affirming their dignity and self-worth Work from an anti-oppressive, strengths-based practice, recognizing the capacity for resilience and growth of individuals and communities when responding to the diverse needs of marginalized or vulnerable populations to act as allies and advocates Work with individuals, groups, families and their communities to ensure that service provider strategies promote social and economic justice, and challenge patterns of oppression, discrimination and harassment, and sexual violence with clients, coworkers and communities. Office Administrations Health Services (Medical) Work Placement
Fanshawe College’s Office Administration Health Services program offers employers a unique opportunity to bring on students who are eager to develop their professional skills in healthcare (medical) administration. These students, through a structured (unpaid) work placement, are learning to excel in managing office workflows, optimizing communication systems, and maintaining health records within medical settings. Our students are trained to manage administrative tasks, coordinate office communications, and implement health records systems—all within tight deadlines and priorities. As part of their learning objectives, students will gain practical experience by taking on real-world projects that align with your organization’s goals. This experience helps them develop critical skills in office technologies, document production, and confidentiality in health services.

Developing good marketing strategies and properly executing those strategies most often determines whether a product will be a success. The Co-op work term is sequenced for a 4 or 8 month Co-op. Operations Management Capstone

Organizations must adapt to changes to ensure their continuity. Students in the Operations Management program come from a variety of professional backgrounds, often with years of experience and are aware of local, regional, national, and international trends that could impact an organization’s operations. Using complex problem-solving techniques, students will analyze your organization's operations, identify the root causes of your challenges, and make recommendations for solutions. Students will: Apply complex problem-solving to identify and distinguish the root causes of problems. Analyze, assess, and select appropriate solutions to business situations. Determine if the chosen solutions are viable. Develop an implementation plan for the recommendations. Evaluate outcomes and revise plans as necessary. Deliver a summary of their analysis using effective presentation techniques and strategies. Apply simulation modelling, where possible, to analyze and improve operational efficiency.

Learners have completed an undergraduate degree and are taking a post-graduate certificate. They will dedicate up to 20 hours per week over 4 months, and have a variety of focusses.
Improving Customer Experience To Enhance Customer Engagement
Fanshawe College students in this program understand customer experience design through Customer Experience (CX) research, maximizing journey mapping, measuring the CX journey, and how to deploy direct and interactive omni-channel (multiple) marketing campaigns using customer intelligence and social media analytics. This project will involve groups of 4-5 students in teams to develop a new customer experience for a product or service. The objectives are to apply the course material and develop an appreciation for the process that a Customer Experience Specialist or Marketing Manager goes through in developing a new customer experience plan. Each team will play the part of a customer experience company which encompasses all the CX tools and will be pitching a new customer experience to your organization. Additional details regarding the live client work will be discussed in class.

Program evaluation serves this purpose as it is the systematic process of assessing the value of any activity. The assessment delivered is then immediately useful to inform important program decisions. Our students will provide your group with a detailed systematic evaluation of the design, implementation, or results of one of your programs or initiatives.
Strategic Marketing and Marketing Plan - 2024 Fall

Your organization has a product or service requiring a marketing plan. Up to six student teams in each cohort will spend over 10 weeks (40+ hours) conducting research and developing a Strategic Marketing Plan including recommendations for implementation. Students will conduct a situation analysis, research your product/service (including potential target market, competitors, and industry considerations), formulate alternatives, and recommend strategies and implementation plans. All students in each cohort will work on your plan and in the end, you will receive up to six Strategic Marketing Plans.
Fall 2024 Bachelor of Commerce Captone (Management Consulting) Project

Your organization will propose a business challenge, which students will tackle over 10-12 weeks (40+ hours). Students will define the problem, conduct a comprehensive situation analysis, formulate alternatives and recommend a strategy and implementation plan. Once the project scope has been agreed upon, the students provide the research, work and manage the client relationship process.

Students will be prepared to work on a variety of challenges related to CRM Organizational strategies, sales management, digital transformation, omni-channel strategies, data analysis and visualization and technology assessment. Is your organization examining its customer relationship management (CRM) strategy and thinking about how to better integrate different points of customer data? Are you wondering how your organization can achieve a 360 view of the customer so that you can better onboard, develop and retain customers? Research Methods and Statistics (RMS) 2024: Ergonomics

This fall (September to December 2024), Fanshawe College’s Advanced Ergonomics Studies (AES) 2024/2025 cohort of students will be challenged to learn and work with actual companies in a unique and innovative way. The AES faculty have learned that remote school projects, that involve industry partners, can provide our ergonomics students with valuable job skills and experiences while still in school. Therefore, we are looking to you and your industry to help us bring your ergonomics-related research proposals into our classrooms. There are many opportunities for collaboration, but specifically, I (Professor Karen Hoodless) would like to invite you and your organization to participate in my Research Methods and Statistics (RMS) class. This course is designed to prepare students to conduct ergonomics-related research with an organization such as yours. A small group of 3-4 AES students will be tasked to work remotely with your company to develop and conduct an online survey with your employees that answers some ergonomics question that you would like to answer.
Solutions for Early Years Programs

The 4th year degree student brings with them the theoretical and technical knowledge gained throughout previous semesters of the program. The ability to review, present, and critically evaluate quantitative and qualitative information to where appropriate, use this knowledge in the creative process The qualities and transferable skills necessary for further study, employment, community involvement, and other activities requiring: i.) the exercise of initiative, personal responsibility, and accountability in both personal and group contexts; ii.) working reflectively with others; iii.) decision-making in complex context The ability to communicate information, arguments and analysis accurately and reliably, orally and in writing. Students will support an innovative project for an early years or educational partner. This project is an opportunity for ECL students to gain expertise in a subject matter, and to collaborate with their mentors. This is an educational experience whereby the student contributes to the organization, however is in the role of learner. The student will be expected to spend 165 hours from September through December.

The Internship: 420 mentored field hours (volunteer or paid) in an Early Years Program; childcare, related child & family service, or a relevant government agency. Typically from May-Aug (14 Weeks) Opportunities for students to: Pursue a placement expereince according to future careers in the Early Childhood Education/Care sector and/or future academic interests and goals. Students will apply strategies to support continuous learning & promote effective pedagogical practices in an EY setting Refine leadership competencies using the College of Early Childhood Educators Code of Ethics and Standards , and the Whole Leadership Framework (McCormick Centre). Work closely with an experienced EY professional.
