Bring on one or more student/(s) from Fanshawe College in the Office Administration - Executive (OAE) Co-op Endorsed Diploma to conduct a program-related project/Co-op based experience.
The two year OAE Diploma program is designed to offer opportunities in a variety of office support disciplines. These students are equipped to work in diverse team settings, assist with projects and support, and contribute to business solutions.
Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the term connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
Students are available to engage in an employer-lead project from September 6th through December 16th. Students can start as late as September 26.
Full-time hours or slightly less are required and will be dependent on project scope and student availability.
Student co-ops can occur in-person, virtually or hybrid and will count towards a co-op credit.
Co-ops must be paid.

- Overseeing projects and budgets to support business decision making
- Assessing and use current concepts/systems and technologies to support an organization's business initiatives

- Research, develop and present accurate business correspondence and reports to meet the organization's goals.

Project Examples
Co-ops are to be paid (typically a competitive hourly wage, especially in today's job market). Eligible employers can receive a Co-op Tax Credit up to $3,000. Additionally, as part of the Government of Canada's Student Work Placement Program (SWPP), a variety of funding opportunities may be available for employers to hire students for the purposes of experiential learning. Student abilities include:
- Conduct oneself professionally and adhere to relevant legislation, standards and codes of ethics.
- Manage the scheduling, coordination and organization of administrative tasks and workflow within specific deadlines and according to set priorities.
- Coordinate the collection, analysis, distribution and response to communications in the workplace to facilitate the flow of information.
- Operate and provide support related to the use, maintenance and procurement of office equipment and technologies.
- Evaluate, establish and administer a variety of records management systems to ensure confidential, secure, accessible and organized electronic and paper records.
- Produce financial documents and reports by identifying and compiling relevant information and using accounting software.
- Prepare and produce a variety of business documents using available technologies and applying industry standards.
- Use interpersonal, leadership and client service skills to respond to diversity and to support the vision and mission of the organization.
- Research, analyze and summarize information on resources and services and prepare summary reports with recommendations.
- Select and use information technologies to support communication with internal and external stakeholders and to promote the organization.
- Organize and coordinate meetings, conferences, special events and make travel arrangements, including the preparation of related documentation.
- Support the implementation of projects by applying basic principles of project management.
The exact project topic and scope will depend on your company's needs. Student can work on some or all of the aspects mentioned above.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
Co-op terms are remunerated to be qualify for a Co-op work term.
Employer must agree to a Co-op Work Term Agreement (WTA) form, provided by the co-op consultant.
Employer should provide updates on students' work mid-way through the co-op, and complete a final evaluation form at the end of the work term.
Employer must provide a minimum of 420 hours and minimum of 12 weeks of program-related work during the Co-op work term to qualify for a Co-op.
