Details

Our team has created the world’s first peer support network where we do two things:

  • We make high-impact matches for people experiencing similar life struggles
  • Since talking about difficult things is tough, we make it easy and convenient for people to communicate on our engaging, safe and game-like interface

When our users meet peer-to-peer - our project requires a coach to be present to ensure safety during the call. The project aims to deliver peer wellness support for folks experiencing life struggles like grief, anxiety and burnout.

We have built mechanisms for psychology or social work student to receive training and offer peer support to the community. Our peer coaches will receive training and mentorship to perform these tasks and achieve the program objectives.

Together, let’s make loneliness & isolation a thing of the past! If you resonate with our vision to make mental healthcare accessible for all, and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you!

Deliverables

Capacity: 25 students

This is a 100% remote position. We have built our app that supports peer coach accessible from anywhere in Canada.

  • Sit in at least 3 peer calls (30 minutes each) during the course of the project
  • Write a report at the end of the project term outlining areas of improvement to better support the wellbeing of our users
Mentorship

At Honest Empathy our executive team will offer one-on-one mentorship to each student and coach them throughout the project. We will begin by understanding the student’s professional and career goals and learn how this project can help them build skills to achieve those goals. We will create an action plan for the project's duration to help them gain the skills they want. We will have check-ins 2-3 times a week to work together, understand their progress, remove blockers and coach them. Team meetings will be conducted through Zoom and phone calls.

Our executive team and advisors have backgrounds in:

  • Psychology and Clinical practice
  • Product Management
  • Government Policy
  • Organizational Strategy
  • Full stack software development
  • Technology Consulting
  • Academic Research

We will open our network to each student and make introductions for them to learn more about their desired field. At the end of the project, the student may receive the opportunity to continue a summer internship, based on performance.
