researchThe main goal for the project is to enhance participation and collaboration in the environmental programs offered by Innovate Landfill Solutions Canada (ILS Canada). This is crucial in supporting and spreading the company's environmental efforts and objectives.
This will involve several different steps for the students, including:
- Researching and understanding the environmental programs offered by ILS Canada.
- Identifying and recruiting organizations and groups that can participate in, cooperate with, and support the environmental program.
- Developing agreements with the collaborative organizations to officially participate in the program and propose it to their members or participants.
- Facilitating mutual proposal and provision of the program to the collaborating organizations' members or participants.
By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:
- A list of recruited organizations and groups that are willing to collaborate with ILS Canada.
- Drafted agreements with the collaborative organizations specifying the manner in which they will propose and provide the program to their members or participants.
- Implemented a mutual proposal and provision process with the collaborating organizations to actively spread the environmental program.
Final deliverables:
- A comprehensive report detailing the recruitment process, agreements, and mutual proposal and provision activities.
- "Environmental Program Collaboration Project" is to include the results of collaboration projects conducted with actual organizations or companies. The project team will select actual collaboration partners based on research data collected, execute the collaboration project in detail, and then document and present the results.
To ensure the successful completion of the project and provide comprehensive support to the learners, the following strategies will be implemented:
- Dedicated Staff Mentorship: Assign a dedicated staff member or team from Innovate Landfill Solution Canada (ILS) who will act as mentors to the learners. These mentors will have expertise in environmental science, digital marketing, data analysis, and project management to provide guidance, answer questions, and offer feedback throughout the project duration.
- Regular Check-ins and Progress Reviews: Schedule weekly or bi-weekly virtual meetings for project updates, progress reviews, and Q&A sessions. This will help keep the project on track and allow learners to seek clarification and guidance on their tasks.
- Access to Tools and Technology: Provide learners with access to necessary software and online tools required for data analysis, digital marketing, content creation, and project management. This may include analytics platforms, design software, social media management tools, and project collaboration platforms (Slack, Shortcut/Trello).
- Comprehensive Data Access: Ensure learners have access to all relevant data needed for their analysis and project tasks. This includes participant engagement data, recycling rates, feedback from event participants, and any other data collected during the pilot EcoJackpot events.
- Resource Library: Develop a digital resource library containing relevant research papers, articles, case studies, and educational materials on recycling practices, sustainability strategies, and digital marketing best practices to support the learners' research and project development.
- Feedback Mechanism: Implement a structured feedback mechanism where learners can submit their work for review and receive constructive feedback from their mentors and ILS staff. This will help them refine their deliverables and learn from practical experience.
- Flexible Communication Channels: Establish open and flexible communication channels, such as email, messaging apps, and video conferencing, to ensure learners can easily reach out to their mentors and ILS staff for support whenever needed.
By providing these support and mentorship resources, ILS commits to creating an enriching learning environment that not only aids in the successful completion of the project but also contributes to the professional growth and development of the learners.

Sustainable cities and communitiesAbout the company
ILS Canada leads in promoting environmental progress through the efficient collection of recyclables that were previously considered non-recyclable and disposed of as waste. It accomplishes this by organizing educational events that encourage communities and participants to actively contribute to the recycling circular economy, driving innovation in the sorting of recyclable materials.
