Details

The main goal of this project is to create a comprehensive B2B branding strategy and go-to-market plan for Four Star Mushrooms. This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

- Researching the current B2B market and Four Star Mushrooms' current position in it.

- Developing a comprehensive branding strategy that includes a unique value proposition, target audience, and messaging.

- Creating a go-to-market plan that outlines the steps needed to launch the new branding strategy.

- Developing a marketing plan that outlines the tactics and channels needed to reach the target audience.

- Creating an estimated or approximate budget and timeline for the project.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

- Understanding of the B2B market and Four Star Mushrooms' current position in it.

- Comprehensive branding strategy that includes a unique value proposition, target audience, and messaging. Weave in how corporate values, vision and mission, helps differentiate itself in the market and adds value to target clients. Establish a brand that supports a premium product in a commoditized marketplace.

- Go-to-market plan that outlines the steps needed to launch, grow and sustain the new branding strategy in a single urban location (Chicago), but could be replicated in new markets.

- Marketing plan that outlines the tactics and channels needed to reach the target audience.

- Budget and timeline for the project. The budget is less important, as the steps and chronology to execute.

About the company

Agriculture, Food & beverage

Four Star Mushrooms (established 2019), is a controlled environment agriculture (CEA) company growing seven types of gourmet mushrooms in a high tech facility in the heart of Chicago. Primary customers are restaurants/chefs, catering, corporate food service and secondarily are grocers and specialty retail. Consumers will be an added focus this year. The brand is highly recognized in Chicago, which should be expanded and to serve as a foundation for an eventual consumer strategy. If you've seen the hit show "The Bear", you've seen Four Star Mushrooms. The founder's vision as a CEA is to create a more sustainable food system - locally.
