personalized medicine clinical research competitive analysis biotechnology research pricing strategies workflow managementMetabolomics is a powerful tool used for clinical research, diagnostics, and personalized medicine among many other fields. Fluidome reduces the complexity of metabolomics research with our custom-designed kits including consumables and software which make metabolomics workflows quicker, easier, and more accessible. We would like students to help us with analyzing similar products on the market and determining our market fit. Additionally, the student will perform a unit cost analysis of our products to determine an appropriate pricing strategy for our target markets.
To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:
- Analyze metabolomics-specific products that are currently available
- Create a report summarizing features of competing products including: cost, applications, design
- Perform a unit cost analysis of our current products
- Create a report recommending a pricing strategy based on the unit cost and competitor analysis
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will hold weekly meetings to discuss any issues that arise and ensure that the deliverables can be met within the timeframe. We will be able to provide:
- Technical input and feedback for the analysis
- Access to prior marketing and competitor research for the company
About the company
Metabolomics is an important analytical tool with many applications in diverse fields ranging from clinical diagnostics to bioengineering and agriculture. However, this technology is hampered by complex and time-consuming workflows that limit its use to highly-trained specialists. Fluidome's mission is to make state-of-the-art metabolomics technology available to all researchers and clinicians through our high-quality kits that streamline and accelerate complex diagnostics and biomarker discovery workflows. Each kit consists of three components: (1) a consumable device for experimentation, (2) chemical standards for quality control, and (3) software to facilitate data analysis and interpretation. These kits have been proven in new diagnostic technologies for bacterial infections and for microbiome projects.
