media production marketing materials development environment communication journalismIn the TV Studio in Allard Hall, there are a wide range of projects to be completed. These projects can be done both in-person and remotely, and they will provide a wealth of experience for students to further develop critical skills in media production.
Through these paid internships, students can learn how a studio operates, and work in a cohesive team environment to improve the quality and range of services offered by MacEwan University.
Student interns will develop and build industry contacts, and increase the visibility of MacEwan services within the Edmonton area. For these TV Studio projects, we are interested in working with and engaging the local community.
This is an opportunity to work in a multi-faceted production environment, to hone your skills in media production, and equip you with skills critical for employment in journalism, communications, and media production.
We are looking to hire Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications students for paid internships at MacEwan University.
This semester we will be working on a variety of projects that will include things like:
- Behind-the-scenes Edmonton Elks: Professional CFL football team the Edmonton Elks will be visiting and working in our Media Production Studio.
- Imagine Ukraine Podcast: Continued work on Imagine Ukraine Podcast and developing promotional content.
- Behind-the-scenes DOC Alberta: The Documentary Organization of Canada will be visiting MacEwan's Media Production Studio and conducting a workshop.
- School of Business/MacEwan International: Creating promotional and marketing materials for other departments at the University.
- We will also be doing additional promotional videos and in-studio work this semester to further enhance our space.
Supervision and mentorship will be provided by Jason Malenko and Sheena Rossiter throughout the internship period. Regular check-ins with support and guidance on projects will regularly be provided through phone calls, Zoom meetings, emails, and in-person discussions.
