Four Star Mushrooms is looking for a motivated and self-sufficient Digital Marketing Intern. In this role, you will get a chance to define a B2C strategy and execute it.  As a team of one, working closely with the founder and key mentors, we will lean on your knowledge and experience to launch a digital campaign to promote our product at a targeted audience that supports our retail partners.  Our team will educate, guide and support you along this live learning experience. The end result is a deliverable that you own and can proudly present. 

Deliverables

We are just beyond startup with strong B2B brand recognition in Chicago. We are in guerilla marketing mode, operating on a tight budget.  You will have autonomy to execute unlike any large corporate internship opportunity.  We are relying on quick strategy development and execution to drive tangible outcomes.  

 

Digital Marketing Intern Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand our retail product launch and geographic footprint
  • Quickly define a simple “go to market” strategy that can be achieved with given resources and present to founder(s) for approval
  • Implement all aspects of given strategy (supportive resources TBD - by you and we’ll help pull them together)
  • Establish means to measure success of strategy


Goals of strategy will include:

  • Ongoing effort to define target consumer audience
  • Establishing methods to reach target consumer audience and grow that following over time
  • Leverage existing digital assets to execute and establish new assets/channels (i.e. TikTok, Twitter (X), YouTube)
  • It would be a plus to engage relevant subject matter experts and or influencers to drive brand awareness
  • Center content and promotion around defined and strategic parameters that support brand objectives and image
  • Method to track/report the success of the launch that includes specific KPIs
Mentorship

A dedicated mentor/advisor works with us full time and he is a 3x entrepreneur. He is available full time to the assist the intern and would work closely on a near daily basis (if needed).

Four Star Mushrooms (established 2019), is a controlled environment agriculture (CEA) company growing seven types of gourmet mushrooms in a high tech facility in the heart of Chicago. Primary customers are restaurants/chefs, catering, corporate food service and secondarily are grocers and specialty retail. Consumers will be an added focus this year. The brand is highly recognized in Chicago, which should be expanded and to serve as a foundation for an eventual consumer strategy. If you've seen the hit show "The Bear", you've seen Four Star Mushrooms. The founder's vision as a CEA is to create a more sustainable food system - locally.
