data infrastructure feasibility studies data storage data modeling planning conceptual design data processing scalability environmental reporting data architectureThe primary objective of this project is to evaluate the technical viability of the Dynamic Environmental Reporting System (DERS), focusing on optimizing data storage, processing capabilities, and initial data architecture. Our aim is to enhance the system’s scalability, flexibility, and overall performance efficiency by integrating advanced data management and processing solutions.
- Evaluate existing data sources and formats to design a scalable and flexible data storage solution.
- Plan the data processing pipeline, considering the integration of advanced tools for logging, data analysis, and visualization.
- Develop a preliminary data model and architecture that supports the identified user needs and system requirements.
- Deliver a comprehensive technical feasibility report detailing the proposed data infrastructure, data models, and processing pipelines.
- Provide a prototype or conceptual design of the data architecture.
- Present the technical plan and prototype to the development team and stakeholders.
Access to Tools and Technology:
- Cloud Computing Resources: Provide access to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS) with certain usage limits to allow learners to explore, experiment, and deploy their data infrastructure, analytics, and modeling solutions. This includes access to databases, computing power, and data storage services.
- Software and Tools: Offer licenses or subscriptions for necessary software and tools that are crucial for data analysis, modeling, and visualization, such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Logstash, ensuring learners have the resources needed for hands-on learning and project development.
Collaborative Platforms:
- Communication Tools: Set up dedicated channels on communication platforms (e.g., Slack) for project teams to facilitate easy and open communication among team members and with mentors.
- Project Management Tools: Provide access to project management tools (e.g., Trello) to help teams organize their work, track progress, and meet deadlines effectively.
Recognition and Feedback:
- Showcase Opportunities: Organize events or forums where learners can showcase their project work to peers, staff, and stakeholders, receiving recognition for their efforts and constructive feedback to enhance their learning.
- Certificate of Achievement: Offer certificates or acknowledgments for successful project completion, adding value to the learners’ professional growth and portfolio.

ILS Canada leads in promoting environmental progress through the efficient collection of recyclables that were previously considered non-recyclable and disposed of as waste. It accomplishes this by organizing educational events that encourage communities and participants to actively contribute to the recycling circular economy, driving innovation in the sorting of recyclable materials.
