video editing software civic engagement video production communication managementPosition Overview: Global Deeds, a nonprofit organization committed to fostering civic engagement through the Global Deeds Civic Action Program, is seeking a talented Videographer and Reporter Team to capture and share the impactful stories emerging from our Civic Dinners and the Global Deeds Civic Action Summit. The team will be responsible for conducting interviews with legislators at the Massachusetts State House and creating compelling videos showcasing the projects of high school students within Gateway cities. A strong portfolio of previous work is required, and candidates with backgrounds in communications and video field production are preferred.
Responsibilities:
Interviews and Video Production:
- Conduct interviews with legislators, high school student-leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders at the Massachusetts State House.
- Produce high-quality videos that effectively convey the stories and projects of students involved in the Civic Dinners and the Global Deeds Civic Action Summit.
Storytelling and Narrative Development:
- Develop engaging and compelling narratives that highlight the impact of the Civic Dinners and Civic Action Summit on students, educators, and the community.
- Collaborate with the communications team to ensure alignment with organizational messaging and goals.
Event Coverage:
- Attend and document key events, including Civic Dinners, the Global Deeds Civic Action Summit, and other related activities.
- Capture behind-the-scenes footage to provide a comprehensive view of the program's activities and impact.
Portfolio Management:
- Maintain a strong portfolio of work, showcasing proficiency in video production, storytelling, and interview techniques.
- Regularly update the portfolio to reflect the latest projects and contributions.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Coordinate with legislators, students, teachers, and event organizers to schedule and conduct interviews.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive storytelling and messaging.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in video production and storytelling techniques.
- Utilize advanced video editing software and equipment to enhance the quality of produced content.
Initial Onboarding:
- Provide comprehensive onboarding sessions to familiarize the team with the organization's mission, the Global Deeds Civic Action Program, and the specific goals of the videography and reporting project.
Introduction to Project Requirements:
- Clearly outline project expectations, key deliverables, and deadlines during the onboarding process to set clear parameters for the team.
Access to Portfolio Building Workshops:
- Conduct workshops or training sessions to help team members enhance their portfolios, covering effective storytelling, interviewing techniques, and showcasing previous work.
Regular Check-Ins:
- Schedule regular check-in meetings to assess progress, address any challenges, and provide guidance on refining storytelling and video production skills.
