Are you a tech-savvy individual passionate about web development and eager to take your skills to the next level?


Classlete (the fusion of "Class" and "Athlete") is an innovative online platform designed for Canadian and U.S. high school student-athletes who strive to balance academics, sports, and social life.


As a start-up, Classlete provides youth sporting organizations/schools with a custom Sports Card/Poster design (both digital and printed) outfitted with QR codes. This provides a revolutionary rev-sharing, branding and fundraising opportunity for these organizations that can help elevate their brand's and athletes' visibility when these sports cards with their QR codes are shared on social media.


They can also share their accomplishments with their followers on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.


We are seeking a Web Developer Intern to join our dynamic team and help enhance our platform. If you're passionate about web development and eager to contribute to a growing start-up, we want to hear from you!

Position: Web Development Intern

Location: Remote

Duration: 1-2 Months

Start Date: ASAP


Requirements:


  • Proficiency in Laravel
  • Experience with Livewire, Vue.js, or similar reusable component frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or other CSS frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Passion for learning and staying updated with the latest web development trends.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior experience with web development projects.
  • Understanding of version control systems like Git.
  • Basic knowledge of database management.

Deliverables

Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain web applications.
  • Utilize Laravel for backend development.
  • Implement interactive user interfaces using Livewire or a reusable component framework like Vue.js.
  • Style web applications using Tailwind CSS or another CSS framework.
  • Assist in debugging and optimizing web applications for performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
  • Develop a responsive web application / website using React, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Understanding our company and what we offer and translate that into relevant components for the final deliverable
  • Using the agreed upon tool, setting up the development environment with the command line and version control (Git)
  • Writing unit tests and debugging code
  • Handle HTTP requests and responses, ensuring proper JSON data interchange
  • Incorporate Git workflow for version control and collaborative development
  • Enhance the user experience with client-side JavaScript functionalities
  • Ongoing support from senior management and development team


Deliverables Include:


1) Finalizing and testing the build of our B2B Portal for both the organization and end user member experience.


2) Testing the code, script and generation of over 12 different sports card design templates


3) Optimizing the entire end user experience from organization/user sign up, profile creation, picture upload, card generation, sharing and purchasing experience.


4) Implementing and testing a new AI Content Moderation tool to flag NSFW content from image uploads for the sports cards uploaded by the end users.


Mentorship

Access to all available data and systems, mentorship time with our DevOps and Web Development team, weekly team meetings, Discord server access, product knowledge and more.
