Project Description and Scope:
Introduction
The Career Centre is looking for a team of students to conduct a thorough cleaning and standardization of the Centre's operations and services, as well as conduct a current state analysis.
Students would have the opportunity to
- Map a current state analysis (CSA) of all systems, including events, programming, external outreach, volunteer involvement, and various other services offered by the VSE Career Centre, as well as that of internal operations
- Compile information from current systems and statistics to provide content in summary reports
- Gather existing data of our operations and services, clean it for better maintenance and to remove bugs, and analyze it to understand the current
- Develop procedures and automate tasks and data collection to systematically organize the flow of information throughout the VSE Career Centre
- Maintain and develop organization standards for databases, shared drive, and email inbox in order to improve team efficiency
- Develop and analyze surveys of volunteers, students, employers, and Work Learn students to create written reports surrounding usage of and satisfaction with the VSE Career Centre
- Collaborate with other Work Learn students and staff to determine the needs of the VSE Career Centre in tracking usage of the website, the canvas course and other tools
- Communicate regularly with the Director and VSE Career Centre staff via email, in-person and by phone, in a professional manner
- Attend weekly staff meetings to discuss updates and ongoing activities with the VSE Career Centre Director
- Communicate key learnings, takeaways, and insights through debriefs, summary reports, and weekly meetings as well as through updates to the Data Tracking and Reporting Analyst transition manual
- Other duties as required

- You have basic office administrative skills and the ability to operate standard office equipment
Must Haves
Skills/knowledge
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including data visualization and consolidation skills
- Previous experience with data collection and analysis
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, as well as an eagerness to learn
- Ability to deal with a diversity of internal stakeholders in a calm, courteous, and effective manner, utilizing strong business acumen
- Resourceful and able to research best practices in a variety of areas
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in all forms (email, phone, in-person)
- Able to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity
- Equally at ease working independently and in a team environment
- Previous experience with Qualtrics, WordPress, and/or Canvas Course (asset)
- Previous experience conducting research and developing comprehensive research reports (asset)
- Previous experience working with a Career Centre / Coaching field (asset)
- Must be able to work up to 10 hours a week
Student will receive:
- Weekly oversight through prescheduled meetings
- Constant feedback on operations
- Recommendations and potential to return for other projects after completion
