During this project, a dedicated full-time Pharma market specialist will work step-by-step with students to develop a comprehensive business plan tailored to the specific needs of a University of Calgary-based pharma/biotech company.


The plan should encompass launching a new business, entering an emerging market, or developing an innovative product in the field of novel antibacterial and antibiofilm materials with antioxidant properties for various industrial, agricultural, and clinical applications. This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

- Understanding the business strategy and products of MHCombiotic Inc.


- Analyzing the industry, target customers, and competitive landscape.


- Developing a marketing plan tailored to the specific needs of the company.


- Creating a financial plan including sales forecasts, income projections, and expense budgets.


- Running a cost, effect analysis.


- Identifying critical risks and developing an exit strategy.


Deliverables

We are flexible based on the student's interset and the filed they will work, but by the end of the project, students might be able to complete one or some of the following list of activities:


- A business plan including an executive summary, company description, industry analysis, product/service plan, marketing plan, operation and development plan, management team, critical risk assessment, offering, exit strategy, and financial plan.


- A 60-minute presentation explaining all research and findings from the business plan.


- Delivery of the PDF and Word versions of the business plan to MHCombiotic Inc.

·       Planning & Strategy Development: Crafting tailored marketing, financial, and operational plans to support MHCombiotic Inc.'s growth objectives in the field of novel antibacterial and antibiofilm materials.

·       Research & Innovation: Delving into antimicrobial formulations, their applications, and the broader implications for industrial, agricultural, and clinical sectors.

·       Risk Management: Identifying potential challenges and devising robust exit strategies to safeguard the company's interests.

Final Deliverables:

Upon project completion, students will present a well-rounded

business plan, complemented by a detailed report and presentation:

·       Business Plan: A comprehensive document encompassing all facets of MHCombiotic Inc.'s business strategy, including market analysis, product development, marketing strategies, financial projections, and risk assessments.

·       Presentation: A concise, 60-minute presentation elucidating key research findings, strategic insights, and recommendations derived from the business plan.

·       Document Delivery: Submission of both PDF and Word versions of the business plan to MHCombiotic Inc., ensuring accessibility and ease of review.

MHC is providing novel antibacterial and antibiofilm materials with antioxidant properties for different industrial, agricultural, and clinical applications including pharmaceutical companies, dental/orthopaedic implants, cosmetics (e.g. anti-acne creams, preservatives), coating on surgical tools, artificial joints, medical devices, wound dressing, high touch surface coatings, and infection control at hospitals, especially after surgery. Moreover, we are providing the same materials for the veterinary, dairy, food and oil and gas industry as well. We have discovered several different antimicrobial formulations with different features and expenditures, each of them being useful for a specific type of clinical or industrial application.
