Details

We would like 1-4 students to assist with marketing and administrative tasks to host the annual National Music Festival for youth music students. The National Music Festival offers 5 streams of programming - the Emerging Artist Stream for advanced-level students, the Developing Artist Stream for intermediate-level students, the Non-Competitive Education Stream for junior-level participants, the Composition Stream for youth composers at all levels,, and the Ensemble Stream for chamber ensembles, choirs, and orchestras.

Tasks include creating content for social media posts to promote the virtual, processing registrations, hosting virtual adjudication workshop with professional musicians, and preparing videos of winning performances.

We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization.

Deliverables

To accomplish this, we expect the student[s] will:

· prepare social media posts highlighting the professional

musicians serving on the jury panel

· assist with fundraising and recognition of donors

· assist with processing registrations by vetting the repertoire

selections to ensure they are eligible, standardizing formatting in the

database, and merging data into templates to create the program, certificates,

and adjudication sheets

· create class composites to promote the event on social

media before it begins and composites of winners after the event

· schedule virtual workshops for the competitors with their adjudicator

· prepare the Showcase Videos by creating slides of the adjudicators and competitors; record the emcee portions; extract the winning selections from the submitted performances

Registration closes June 30 with the adjudication workshops

being scheduled as follows:

July 11 – Choir, Band, and Orchestra Directors

July 11 - Non-Competitive Education Stream

July 12 – Chamber Ensemble and Composition

July 23-24 – Developing Artist Stream

July 26 - Showcase Video Premiere

July 27-31 – Emerging Artist Stream Event held in person on the campus of Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB. The work for this event will be done virtually. The Grand Award Competition will be live-streamed on YouTube on July 31.

August 1-15 - Wrap Up - Donor thank you notes, post-event publicity

August 1 - September 30 - Alumni Outreach

Students will need to be able to be focused on this project as it is a short turnaround.

Mentorship

Students will work closely with the FCMF Executive Director or Marketing Task Force Lead who is supervising and available for questions. Ongoing communication will take place through Slack, email, and phone to assess progress, review content and make adjustments to the students' tasks and duties if necessary.

Students will receive a timeline of when certain sections of the work needs to be done by and templates to use in preparing the information.
