Details

In the TV Studio in Allard Hall, there are a wide range of projects to be completed. These projects can be done both in-person and remotely, and they will provide a wealth of experience for students to further develop critical skills in media production.

Through this paid internship, students can learn how a studio operates, and work in a cohesive team environment to improve the quality and range of services offered by MacEwan University.

Student interns will develop and build industry contacts, and increase the visibility of MacEwan services within the Edmonton area. For these TV Studio projects, we are interested in working with and engaging the local community.

This is an opportunity to work in a multi-faceted production environment, to hone your skills in media production, and equip you with skills critical for employment in journalism, communications, and media production.

Deliverables

Throughout this eight-week period, we will be working on a video about the department of communication, which will include things like:

-Learning pre-production for video production

-Filming and producing content for a video about the department of communication

-Editing and releasing a promotional video about the department of communication

-Creating tutorial videos about the TV Studio

Mentorship

Supervision and mentorship will be provided by Sheena Rossiter throughout the internship period. Regular check-ins with support and guidance on projects will regularly be provided through phone calls, Zoom meetings, emails, and in-person discussion
