This experience enables learners to apply organizational consulting and change management principles to real-world business challenges. Students will work in teams to analyze any change a company is going through, organizational issues, develop actionable solutions, and present recommendations to employers. Through this project, businesses gain fresh insights into their change management strategies, while learners develop hands-on consulting experience.
Learner Capabilities:
- Conduct organizational assessments to identify change needs.
- Apply consulting frameworks to real-world business problems.
- Develop strategic change initiatives and recommend solutions.
- Communicate findings effectively through professional reports and presentations.
- Apply ethical decision-making in organizational change contexts.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to analyze and implement change strategies.
Learners
Learners will engage in a consulting-style project aligned with an organization's current change management needs. Deliverables could include but are not limited to:
- Consulting Report: A detailed assessment of the organization’s challenges and proposed strategies for improvement.
- Change Management Plan: A structured roadmap outlining recommendations and implementation steps.
- Stakeholder Analysis: Identification of key stakeholders and strategies for managing resistance to change.
- Final Presentation: Professional presentation of findings and recommendations to the employer.

Ideal Employer Profile:
Organizations undergoing structural, technological, or cultural change that are open to student-led research and strategic recommendations.
In the past, the following projects have been completed by our students:
- Develop recruitment and selection process including behaviourally based question for key positions.
- Identify tactical HR initiatives to support an organization’s strategic thrusts.
- Develop and administer an organization culture audit/employee survey.
- Audit one area of current procedure and practices for legal compliance.
- Assess the design, operation of one aspect of the HR function, recommend changes.
- Assess the design of one part of the total compensation program for an organization.
- Identify ways in which to improve the systems and information flow of an HR department.
- Design a training program.
- Recommend improvements to current approaches to training and development.
- Design a performance management system and supporting documentation.
- Develop job descriptions for key roles, including an assessment of specifications and key competencies.
