Do you have a software/programming challenge you would like to tackle? In this project, student teams will assess and develop solutions to a software/programming problem of your choosing. Topics such as computer architecture, computer systems, development of algorithms and computer programs, and programming style will be covered. Specific attention will be paid to programming topics such as selection and loop structures, arrays, functions, procedures, and string processing. The main emphasis of this project is on the study and development of algorithms, using a procedural language.

The final project deliverables might include:

  1. 10-15 minute presentation of key findings and recommendations
  2. A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights, and recommendations

Project Examples

Beginning in January, students in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.

Project activities might include but are not limited to:

  1. Analyzing the basic concepts of programming
  2. Examining the Java fundamentals
  3. Writing a program using Java programming language
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide an opportunity for students to present their work and receive feedback.

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
