Marketing for New Mobile App

We are an early-stage startup focused on the development of wearable electronics. We are currently working on our prototype and want to launch a mobile app before the completion of the hardware. We aim to get customer insights and develop a community through the mobile app, so we have a platform ready to launch our hardware once the R&D is completed. Together with our team, we would like students to conduct market research on how we can best position our mobile app as a platform to launch our hardware later and help us develop a marketing and communication strategy for the product. We have previously conducted 200 customer interviews to understand our target markets. This information will be shared with students so they can familiarize themselves with our research. Additional information will be shared for them to understand the products and the objective of launching the app without the hardware.

Strategy for product launch

We are an early-stage startup focused on developing wearable technologies for beauty. Our end goal is to develop artificial nails that can instantly change colour from a mobile app. However, we are looking to launch two other products as we continue developing our prototype. The two products we are trying to launch are: (1) a necklace with a display that can be customized from the phone and (2) press-on nails with LEDs. So far, we have won some traction for our main project regarding the development of our colour-changing artificial nails by participating in local pitch competitions. However, we require a strategy for launching our first two products that can help us gain traction. Our plan is to launch through a crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter or Indiegogo in order to keep our costs down. The main goal of this project would therefore be to develop a strategy to promote the launch of our two products on a crowdfunding platform.

Hardware Development for Wearable Electronic in Beauty

We are an early-stage startup focused on developing wearable technologies for beauty, currently looking to launch two products: (1) a customizable necklace and (2) press-on nails with LEDs powered through RFID. Customizable eInk necklace: We have developed a basic PCB prototype that requires further optimization. Students will receive all the documentation from the current prototype and will be asked to optimize the system so it can receive the images through NFC at a much faster rate. LED press-on nails powered with RFID: We are looking to develop active RFID bracelets that can light up the NFC-powered LEDs on our press-on nails. The bracelets would have an on/off/intermittent mode and a rechargeable battery. The range of the RFID should be sufficient to reach the fingernails. Alternative versions to the bracelets, such as rings, can be considered based on a study of the range and power of the RFID signal. * NDA's and waivers will be required from the interns undertaking this project.
