Level Up- Graphic Design of Education Modules for Junior High Science Classrooms
The graphic design student will work towards packaging educational resources into a cohesive design that can be published and distributed to teachers across Alberta. You will use a combination of developed experimental procedures, assessments, background notes, and lesson plans to create a comprehensive booklet for educational use. This project will be conducted under the guidance of Dr. Kaitlyn Towle, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences at MacEwan University.
Digitization of Ch 101 Materials- Phase 2
Cognitive science has led to a greater understanding of how people learn. The mechanics of learning have been distilled to four main stages, attention, encoding, storage and retrieval. Knowing the process of how people learn has led to new strategies in the way that educators approach teaching and learning within the classroom. Moving towards a more interactive classroom environment, has led to students taking a more active role in their learning journey. Many educators have worked towards creating innovative ways of delivering course content to enhancing the learning environment. In this project we aim to create interactive digital learning content that students can use to enhance their learning throughout a semester.
Level Up- Design of PBL modules for classroom use phase 2
The research assistants will work towards developing and designing project-based learning modules that can be used in Edmonton Public School Classrooms. You will be translating the current research interests of MacEwan Faculty members into projects that can be completed in junior high classrooms. In this role, you will be tasked with adapting research methods and generating educational content and testing procedures. This project will be conducted under the guidance of Dr. Kaitlyn Towle, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences at MacEwan University.
